June 25, 2013 – The governing board of the California Science Center today unanimously approved the final part of a lease agreement for the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, clearing the way for USC to operate and restore the historic landmark.

“USC is delighted that the California State Board of Directors approved this agreement,” said Thomas S. Sayles, the USC senior vice president of University Relations. “This will allow USC to invest over $70 million into the Coliseum to save and restore this historic national landmark. The deal approved today is a win-win for the people of Los Angeles, the museums in Exposition Park, our community and USC.

“We are pleased that everyone was able to come together to work out a deal, which benefits everybody involved. We look forward to working with our partners to implement this new arrangement.”
