Wired features USC’s Hao Li

Wired recently featured Hao Li, a computer scientist and animator at the USC Viterbi School. Li is developing hyper-realistic, 3D models of people, then animating them in real time.

“My work involves using a video camera that sees in 3D to capture subtle facial details, movements and expressions. So you get digital characters that look alive,” Li said. “Next, we are exploring how we can translate your motion and make the figure move.”
