MEDIA CALL Thurs., 11/14: USC Rossier School of Education Makes Major Announcement on Teacher Support
November 13, 2013
WHO: University of Southern California Rossier School of Education Dean Karen Symms Gallagher
WHAT: A conference call to announce a groundbreaking, comprehensive new initiative from the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education to support its graduates and enhance effective teaching in the United States.
WHEN: Thursday, November 14 at 11 am PST / 2 pm EST
WHY: Effective teaching is the most powerful avenue for schools to improve student outcomes, and education schools in the United States must support and stand behind their graduates as they enter the classroom and build their practice.
USC Rossier, which has been preparing teachers for over 100 years, raises the bar with this innovative, new approach.
In 2009, USC Rossier launched its breakthrough online Master of Arts in Teaching degree, using a state-of-the-art online learning platform with self-paced coursework, live face-to-face class sessions and field-based teaching experiences. With the online and on-campus programs, the school has prepared more than 2,000 teaching graduates since 2009.
The school is committed to providing its graduates with the knowledge and skills to make a difference in any classroom – especially urban and other high-need classrooms – by delivering academically rigorous programs that increase student success.
