LOS ANGELES–The University of Southern California (USC) kicks off its 5th season of Visions and Voices, USC’s unique university-wide arts initiative, beginning Thursday, Aug.19, with SPARK!, a multimedia showcase featuring music, dance, performance art and spoken word. The event takes place in Bovard Auditorium on University Park Campus.

The dynamic SPARK! program will mesmerize audiences with electrifying performances by Luminario Ballet, a cappella group Sonos and electric violinist Peter Lee Johnson, among many other talented performers.

This year’s exciting Visions and Voices lineup of events includes an evening with America’s favorite radio host Ira Glass, a presentation by playwright and performer Anna Deavere Smith, an evening of identity-defying theatre with Chicago’s Silk Road Theatre Project, a conversation on food and sustainability with best-selling authors Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser, James Conlon conducting the USC Thornton Symphony and a film festival celebrating Middle Eastern cinema.
