Los Angeles Times featured a gift from the George Lucas Family Foundation to endow the Robin Williams Endowed Chair in Comedy at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. USC was one of the first universities in the country to establish a program specifically for comedy. "To say there’s not a time and a place where one can dedicate oneself to developing one’s voice, one’s craft, one’s practice — I just don’t buy it," said Barnet Kellman, who will be the first holder of the chair and started USC's comedy program. "It sets a standard - more than anything it says, ‘This is the standard to which we aspire.’ It’s a crown jewel in our comedy program," said USC School of Cinematic Arts Dean Elizabeth Daley. Los Angeles Times also mentioned the new chair in its newsletter.
