WHAT: Jill and Frank Fertitta Hall, the fifth and largest USC Marshall School of Business facility, will officially open on Sept. 7.

The 104,000 square-foot, five-story building adds much-needed classroom and student services space to USC Marshall’s undergraduate program. The AC Martin-designed building is certified as LEED Gold, underscoring USC Marshall’s commitment to reducing its footprint.

Fertitta Hall was engineered for millennials who grew up in the Digital Age. Professors are able to live-stream their classes or invite guest speakers to a web conference. Collaborative “breakout rooms” equipped with computers and webcams enhance student synergy in their academic and entrepreneurial endeavors. In line with Southern California culture and today’s students, most classrooms come equipped with skateboard racks. Healthy eating options are offered in an Asian-inspired food court.

With more than 1,000 new classroom seats, 50 breakout rooms, and interactive and touchscreen technology, Fertitta Hall was designed to promote technologically enhanced learning and to encourage a pooling of intellectual resources.

USC President C. L. Max Nikias will host the ribbon-cutting ceremony. USC Marshall Dean James G. Ellis and USC Trustee Frank Fertitta ’84, joined by his wife, Jill Fertitta, will offer remarks.
