USC Village Grand Opening Celebration Thursday, Aug. 17, Special Media Access Information

WHAT: USC Village, one of the biggest developments in South Los Angeles history, opens with a grand celebration led by President C. L. Max Nikias. The ceremony culminates with the unveiling of a 20-foot bronze statue of Hecuba, Queen of Troy and centerpiece of USC Village. As many as 10,000 people are expected.

WHEN: Thursday, August 17, 11 a.m. — 12:10 p.m. Media must be in place by 10 a.m.

WHERE: USC Village, Jefferson Boulevard between Hoover Street and McClintock Avenue. Street closures and traffic controls will be in place.

MEDIA CHECK-IN: Please arrive by 10 a.m. Parking will be in the USC Shrine Parking Structure, 708 W. 32nd St., Los Angeles. Media check-in desk will be near the main stage of the USC Village Central Piazza, under a gold umbrella.

NEWS VANS: Please arrive between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Parking will be on Jefferson between Hoover and McClintock.
