Laura Gale is a Senior Lecturer at University of Southern California (USC) Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, teaching courses in non-profit management, grant writing, policy, and clinical practice with children youth and families.

Prior to Joining the faculty at USC, Gale held a variety of both clinical and leadership positions in the areas of child welfare, child and adolescent mental health, and family services. As Director of Program Administration at a community mental health clinic in Los Angeles County, Gale expanded services to clients under a contract with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health utilizing Mental Health Services Act funding and oversaw the implementation of evidenced based practices agency wide.

Dr. Gales research has focused on faculty development in higher education, specifically in the areas of supporting faculty in creating classroom cultures that support equity and inclusion of students from diverse backgrounds. She has taught workshops and presented at national conferences on using Universal Design for Learning to support students with diverse learning needs. Her research has also focused on supporting the academic success of student veterans with combat sustained traumatic brain injuries.

Dr. Gale received her bachelor’s degree in social work from San Diego State University and a master’s in social work from the Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she completed the Advanced Standing Program with an emphasis in children youth and families. She holds clinical licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an LCSW and is qualified to provide clinical supervision to MSW licensure candidates. Gale has a doctorate degree in education from University of Southern California.
